The lawyers in the sexual harassment lawsuit against Chef Mike Isabella have come forward with new evidence. Lawyers for Chloe Caras, the former Mike Isabella Concepts (MIC) manager who accused Top Chef alum Isabella and other men at MIC of sexual harassment, have expanded their lawsuit.

Star Chef at Arroz and Requin Resigns From Mike Isabella’s Restaurant Group

Michael Rafidi says he is departing in April to pursue his own restaurant. Rafidi, the multi-talented chef that restaurateur Mike Isabella tapped to run new Spanish-Moorish restaurant Arroz and modern French restaurant Requin at the Wharf, is leaving Isabella’s restaurant group next month.

Military Chefs Sound Off About Food at Blue Star Families Event

Chefs from the armed forces partnered with top D.C. chefs for a friendly cooking competition Red, white, and blue Mardi Gras beads aren’t typically paired with a uniform, unless they’re worn at D.C.’s annual Blue Star Families culinary competition.

Great to see a number of military chefs who are part of the Visiting Chef Program at the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run participating.

Empire Builder Mike Isabella Is Returning to the Kitchen at Graffiato

Budding chain Yard House is close to opening in Chinatown Ch-ch-changes Seven years after opening his first restaurant (he added nearly a dozen new outposts in 2017 alone), Top Chef alum Mike Isabella is planning to head back behind the burners at flagship eatery Graffiato in order to revitalize “his baby.” Washington City Paper reports that Isabella is suspending lunch service, jettisoning older dishes, and adding a new tasting menu beginning this March.

James Beard Foundation Names José Andrés Humanitarian of the Year

The D.C. restaurateur is being honored for all the aid he’s provided around the world Global restaurateur and Eater Icon of the Year José Andrés is now also the James Beard Foundation’s Humanitarian of the Year. A previous recipient of James Beard Awards for his cooking and empire building, JBF is recognizing Andrés this time around for the millions of meals (over 3 million and counting) he’s provided to residents of Puerto Rico still working to piece together their lives following the destruction caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
