Nothing fancy, just solid comfort food. Through a friend of a friend of a relative we got turned on to Big Sam’s last year. This summer we ate there a number of times. It has something for everyone.

For our first dinner there, we started with the calamari. It came heavily breaded and tasted great. Like most of Big Sam’s dishes, the portion was generous. Given the size of the entrees, though, I’d probably skip it next time — it was good, but I didn’t want to fill up before the main course.

My wife loves the breaded fried oysters. She was very happy with them.

Next up was this chicken penne pasta in a four cheese cream sauce. I had a taste and found it very flavorful.

These “BIG” Quesadillas with shrimp, came with house made salsa and cilantro lime sauce. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the cilantro lime sauce was wonderful.
The Bacon Cheeseburger came with fries.

My Philly Cheese Steak with great. I would definitely order this again.
If you are on the south end of the VAB oceanfront Big Sam’s is worth checking out, especially for breakfast.
