2020 passed without one of Virginia’s premiere BBQ events. Back this year and better than ever, tickets (Dizzy Pig calls them memberships) are going fast. Memberships are $60 each and get you access to sample multiple courses of hot-off-the-grill food creations from over 20 cook teams. The food is prepared on Big Green Eggs and is amazing.

The teams set up early and are cranking out breakfast items by 10am. Here are some examples of the imaginative dishes you can sample.

Just west of Winchester, VA on Route 522 is the wonderful Homestead Farm Market. It is just a few miles past the large, pricy, market drawing customers from the Northern Virginia suburbs.

There is a nice selection of high-quality fresh vegetables.

They offer many local jams, honey, jellies, and wines.

You can’t find any fresher than “while you wait harvesting.”

They have a nice selection ice creams and baked goods prepared at the market. The bad news is the pies and breads are usually gone by the weekend.

Upstairs is a mixtures of antiques and modern-day accent pieces.

September is a great time to visit and get a glimpse of their sunflower field. If you are making that fall trip to any of the orchards in the Winchester area be sure to stop by the Homestead Farm Market. You won’t be disappointed.
